The
lovely medieval town of Dinan with its quaint cobbled streets and
timber-framed houses is under an hour's drive away. Below the ramparts is
the Old Port on the River Rance with its jostling stone houses
and gothic bridge. Cycling and boat hire available. North of Dinan on the Emerald Coast is the walled city of St Malo. Here you will find sandy beaches and safe waters for swimming. Enjoy some shopping, try one of the many open-air restaurants or wander around the yacht marinas. Take a day trip to Jersey or Guernsey or stay in St Malo to take in the colour, vibrancy and atmosphere of this delightful city. Heading east along the coast is Cancale, famous for its oysters. The oyster beds are visible at low tide and shellfish are sold along the harbourside. The many restaurants have lovely views over the port where you can pass an evening trying the local specialities.
